New 'Fast Lindy' course beginning 8th January. (updated: 30/12/03)
Having problems hanging it all together when the music gets really exciting? We're raising the tempo for this course to teach our fast Lindy technique. The first few weeks will focus on learning the basic technique for fast lindy with subsequent weeks covering what we consider the essential repertoire of moves suitable for fast tempos. Starting on Thursday 8th January the course will run for 8 weeks.
Details can be found on the Classes and Calendar pages.

MA Party with the Alan Elsdon All Star Jazz Band (updated: 03/09/03)
Christi will soon be finishing her 'Masters in Dance Studies' and to celebrate we're holding a dance party for her on Friday 19th September. To make sure it's a really swingin' affair we've booked the 'Alan Elsdon All Star Jazz Band'. This band recently headlined at the Ealing Jazz Festival and played a fantastic set ideal for swing dancing. Alan is a respected and popular member of the British jazz scene so this is a real scoop to have them play for our party.
If you helped Christi with her MA paper by completing the 'Motivation Survey' then you'll get in for free. Just bring along the print out from the on-line survey form, or contact us beforehand if you've already misplaced it. The venue is our usual St Michael's Hall used for our regular Friday Balboa nights. There'll be a fun general level Balboa class from 7:30 - 8:30pm. The first of the band's two sets will be at 9:00pm with dancing till continuing 12:00pm.
Details of the venue can be found on the Balboa classes page.
New Beginners course with Paul & Natasha (updated: 03/09/03)
These classes will take place on Thursday evenings in the same venue as used for our Intermediate/Advanced classes. This means that beginners can now also come along and learn too. The Beginners classes will be taught by Paul Crook and Natasha Hall and start on the 4th of September.
Click here for details or call Paul & Natasha direct on 020 8723 3653 or 07765 166 460.
Take Part in Our Survey and Get a Free Ticket to a Dance! (updated: 04/08/03)
Why do people Lindy Hop? Take part in our survey and maybe we can find out just that. As part of Christi's MA in dance studies, she is trying to find out what motivates people to dance the lindy. Answer this short anonymous questionnaire to be a part of the project. As a way of saying thank you for those participating in the survey, we are organising a swing dance party which will be free to those who complete the questionnaire.
Take the Survey.

C Jam Swing: ANNOUNCEMENT (updated: 16/06/03)
After over 3 years of running C Jam in association with Swingland, Lindy Circle Productions has decided to hand over the running of the event in its entirety to Swingland.
Both organisations feel that C Jam has met their original aims, that of developing a regular swing evening in South West London and providing an alternative music choice. C Jam has indeed become a fixture on the London swing scene, and has benefited the overall scene as well as the two organisations running it. We now feel that the event can continue to thrive, and may be better served, by one organisation taking complete ownership of it. We (Dan & Christi) would also like to concentrate our efforts into developing the swing scene in West London and encouraging Balboa across the UK.
To this end, we have asked Martin (Swingland) if he would be happy to run C Jam as an entirely Swingland event, and we are pleased that he has agreed. The new arrangement will commence from 1st July. From this date onwards, Lindy Circle Productions will no longer be involved in teaching, djing, or running C Jam. However, you may still see us down there from time to time with our dance shoes on!
Tuesday 24th June will therefore be our last night of teaching and djing at C Jam. This is a good excuse for a leaving party where we'll be saying 'farewell' to the C Jam locals and crew at the Bedford. We already have the Jive Aces booked that evening so it should be a doubly good night.
We'll always have fond memories of some great nights at C Jam and wish Martin and the Swingland crew continued success with running the event. We'll probably still drop in occasionally and maybe do a guest DJ or teaching spot if Martin needs a hand from time to time.
We hope that you will be able to join us for our Farewell Party on the 24th June. It would be nice to say 'good-bye' to as many of you as possible and for our 'last night' to be one to remember...

Godalming Classes Discontinued (updated: 21/04/03)
Sadly we've had to discontinue regular weekly classes in Godalming, Surrey. These classes were organised by 'Surrey Swing Scene' with support from Dan & Christi. We had some fun times during our 9 months in Godalming and regret that it's no longer possible to continue. However, looking on the bright side we've introduced many people to lindy hop through these classes. We very much hope these people will continue learning at other classes and events. We'll certainly be staying in touch with many of you...
