C Jam Swing: ANNOUNCEMENTDate: 16/06/03
After over 3 years of running C Jam in association with Swingland, Lindy Circle Productions has decided to hand over the running of the event in its entirety to Swingland.
Both organisations feel that C Jam has met their original aims, that of developing a regular swing evening in South West London and providing an alternative music choice. C Jam has indeed become a fixture on the London swing scene, and has benefited the overall scene as well as the two organisations running it. We now feel that the event can continue to thrive, and may be better served, by one organisation taking complete ownership of it. We (Dan & Christi) would also like to concentrate our efforts into developing the swing scene in West London and encouraging Balboa across the UK.
To this end, we have asked Martin (Swingland) if he would be happy to run C Jam as an entirely Swingland event, and we are pleased that he has agreed. The new arrangement will commence from 1st July. From this date onwards, Lindy Circle Productions will no longer be involved in teaching, djing, or running C Jam. However, you may still see us down there from time to time with our dance shoes on!
Tuesday 24th June will therefore be our last night of teaching and djing at C Jam. This is a good excuse for a leaving party where we'll be saying 'farewell' to the C Jam locals and crew at the Bedford. We already have the Jive Aces booked that evening so it should be a doubly good night.
We'll always have fond memories of some great nights at C Jam and wish Martin and the Swingland crew continued success with running the event. We'll probably still drop in occasionally and maybe do a guest DJ or teaching spot if Martin needs a hand from time to time.
We hope that you will be able to join us for our Farewell Party on the 24th June. It would be nice to say 'good-bye' to as many of you as possible and for our 'last night' to be one to remember...
