Balboa Night | | Friday 20th June 2003 | | SLIDE SPECIAL #2: We'll again be teaching how to incorporate slides into your Balboa. There will be more examples for both men and women that can be easily 'slipped in' to your social dancing. There will be 2 classes as usual but the venue is different as we're unable to use St Michaels Hall. Balboa is an original swing dance that emerged during the same era as Lindy Hop. It was created on the west coast (LA), while Lindy Hop was emerging on the east coast (New York). Both dances evolved to similar styles of music so its easy to mix Balboa with Lindy on the social dance floor.
