VENUE CHANGE – Swing at The Crown and Anchor | | Tuesday 20th October 2015 | For the month of October, our weekly swing dance night will move to The Crown and Anchor while The Pilot undergoes refurbishment. The Crown and Anchor is a lovely pub on Chiswick High Road, less than a mile from The Pilot. We will be back at The Pilot as usual from November.
We offer classes in Balboa at two different levels, suitable for complete beginners through to intermediate/advanced dancers. We rotate people in the classes so you don't need to come with a partner. Comfortable, non-sticky soled shoes are recommended (ideally leather soled).
The beginners' classes run in a monthly cycle, with each week building on the material learnt in the previous weeks that month. Absolute beginners will therefore find it easier to start on the first Tuesday of the month, when we assume no prior knowledge at all. However, you are welcome to start at any time - it will just become more challenging as the month progresses! Once you have done a few classes you will find it easier to drop in at any point during the month. The classes are still run on a drop-in basis so you don't need to do all of the classes in one cycle, although your dancing will progress more quickly if you do.
Social dancing is free and is open to everyone - we play a wide range of styles and tempos of music suitable for Balboa, Lindy Hop, and many other original swing dance styles.
The night has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The Crown and Anchor is a lovely venue where we can relax and get some food and drinks throughout the evening. | | Dan & Gemma Guest | | Groove Juice Special | 7.30 to 8.20pm
