Lindy & Balboa Night - HOT CLUB DELUXE | | Friday 23rd October 2009 | | This weekend is the Nick & Sylvia Workshop so we'll be kicking it off with live music from the fantastic HOT CLUB DELUXE. This band has played for us twice this year and have gone down a storm. They play in the style of 'Hot Club de France' with two guitars, double bass, and violin. Hot Club de France featured the legendary Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli creating a unique style of Jazz sometimes referred to as 'Gypsy Jazz' or Gypsy Swing'. The line up of Hot Club Deluxe includes some truly brilliant musicians making them the best band of this style that I've ever heard. They play a wide range of standards at various tempos suitable for both Lindy Hop and Balboa.
