Lindy & Balboa Night - HOT CLUB DELUXE | | Friday 29th May 2009 | This week we have live music from the fantastic HOT CLUB DELUXE. We rarely have live music on Fridays so it meeds to be something special for me to book a band. I heard this outfit for the first time just a few weeks ago and was so impressed I booked them immediately. They play in the style of 'Hot Club de France' with two guitars, double bass, and violin. Hot Club de France featured the legendary Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli creating a unique style of Jazz sometimes referred to as 'Gypsy Jazz' or Gypsy Swing'.
The line up of Hot Club Deluxe includes some truly brillint musicians making them the best band of this style that I've ever heard. They will be playing a wide range of standards at various tempos suitable for both Lindy Hop and Balboa.
